Path to High School

Welcome to the Path to High School

In my 35+ years of coaching golf, I have developed a program and created an environment for junior golfers to thrive and excel towards their goals.

As a junior golfer I wasn’t coached until later in high school/college, it was through countless hours of practice and play I developed skills that propelled me to be a part of 2 high school state champion teams, Division 1 college scholarship and playing professional golf at the PGA Tour level.

I have been through EVERY golf situation my students have to I have a special understanding of the game from both player and coach perspective. Learning from that I am fortunate to share a lifetime of competitive golf experience with junior golfers.

The Path to High School Program is our Flagship Training Program for those juniors age 12 + who have the desire to practice, train and compete in tournaments and on high school teams. The program is a long-term development process. It combines indoor and outdoor coaching, players who consistently attend practice get amazing results!!

The program is designed for the competitive junior golfer to train leading to the day of high school tryouts. This periodization of the golf training is key to maximizing the ability of the golfer to achieve their goals.

This is a year-round comprehensive program, team coaching centric program that combines full swing, short game, mental coaching and on-course training. A player's ability to get a volume of coaching time versus short bursts of information provides a more encompassing experience.

Our ability to be on the golf course during the “Prep, Play and Fall” season every practice is an amazing asset to our players and their coaching. This is really our “secret sauce” to achieving amazing results.

Proven Path to High School

The Fall Season— September-October

The Fall Season is a continuation of the summer Play season as we are outdoors practicing and playing on course. During this time we train skill development, short game and a major emphasis to on-course play as we wind down the outdoor season.

The Training Season—November-March

This program is designed to “Grind” on golf fundamentals and swing changes during the indoor months. Through the use of video and launch monitor technology juniors can gain tremendous improvements in both accuracy and distance!! Our indoor coaching provides great results as the committed player attends weekly training and additional practice sessions on their own. Skills tests on distance wedges are the cornerstone of learning how to score and are practiced repeatedly on technology. Players test their course management and skills while playing simulators.

The Pre- Season— April-May

This is an exciting time as it’s our transition from indoor season to the outdoors. This time we get to see the hard work in the winter season pay off. This is a time for sharpening the short game and putting the swing changes into play. Getting the feels of being on the golf course and figuring out new distances with clubs and feel for putting.

The Play Season— June-July

This is the time for getting on the golf course and gaining experience. Players should be discovering what areas need work and keeping statistics to determine these areas. This is the competition season as players compete in tournaments and put their skills into action. This season sets the tone for the tryouts in August.

Summer is a busy time for many people with vacations etc. so the format for The Play Season coaching programs will be a bit different than the other seasons. Players have team sessions to attend during the summer months. A schedule will be published online with various days/times throughout the summer.

  • Coach King's new indoor facility is top notch! The equipment and simulators are awesome. With Coach King's phenomenal instruction, my son is spending the winter fine tuning his game. So great that he is able to train all year with such an incredible coach.

  • My 16 yr old son Ben has been taking lessons with Brian King over the past several months. Ben has had nothing but wonderful things to say about his coaching. He has described him as supportive, experienced and very helpful with knowing what areas to assist him with. It has been wonderful to see his excitement about golf, and his confidence grow over the past couple of months. Highly recommend!

  • Coach Brian is absolutely amazing. We moved to the area about 18 months ago. Our son was taking golf lesson/camps and wanted to continue doing so here. We are so lucky to have found Coach Brian. My son is a little shy and never really has much to say about anyone he interacts with. When I pick him up from golf with Coach Brian and goes on and on about what they did and Coach Brian. Not only has our sons game improved but his confidence as well. The programs Coach Brian teaches, the variety of classes, his knowledge for the game, and ability to connect with his students is a rare find. I just wish we had moved here and found him earlier so my older two could have worked with him. Thank you Coach Brian for the positive impact you have made in my son's life and the improvement in his golf game. He will soon be able to beat his dad.
